Feb 7-Apr 17 Sacred Earth

Sacred Earth is an annual ten-week residential course in Ecological and Holistic Spirituality. Details are available in a separate brochure and on the website.

 Feb 13 Silk Scarf Painting Workshop

Basic and advanced techniques. Take home 3 scarves. With Trevor Parton($50)

Feb 19 Permaculture Workshop

A day on the basics of permaculture design. With Leonard Sheahan($30)

Feb 27 Sustainable Living workshop

Resources and hints for living more sustainably at home. Participants receive take-home items. ($40)

Mar 6 Harvest Festival (Equinox)

A day of planting, harvesting and ritual. Vegetarian recipes. ($30)

Mar 8 Walk the Land - Glenburn

Bushwalking in the hills near Gleburn; then a shared picnic lunch and a discussion. Optional pick-up by minibus at Lilydale Station at 10am. (no charge)

Mar 13 Art as Spirituality Workshop

Art is a process that can surprise us into an awareness of the riches we hold within. Let your creative self come out to play. The creative self is within us all, discover the joy which comes from play. Explore your world, using various mediums such as paint, clay, pastels and be guided by what comes. No artistic ability required. With Anne Byrne ($30)

Mar 27 Drumming Workshop

With Christina Green. This workshop allows you to participate and experience the heartbeat of the universe. Drums supplied. Book early. ($30)

Apr 5 Walk the Land

Bushwalking in the hills near Gleburn; then a shared picnic lunch and a discussion. Optional pick-up by minibus at Lilydale Station at 10am. (no charge)

Apr 10 Sacred Dance WorkshopApr 19-28

For millenia, dance has been used in ritual and worship. Mary White revisits the creativity of movement. ($30)

Lake Mungo/Flinders Retreat

Ten day Retreat. This marks the end of the Sacrd Earth course but is open to other participants. Fee: $1012 ($920 GST exempt)

May 28 - 30 Sacred Landscape

A Weekend Ecology Retreat. The basic landscapes of creation are interdependent. Visit the mountains and the creeks and valleys that come from them. See the Valley of a Thousand Hills. ($150)

July 9-11 EarthSong Retreat: New Heart, New Mind

Sep 5-11 Spring Retreat

Celebration of the awakening Earth, with many varieties of wattles and wildflowers. Fee: $500

Sep 16 - 23 Flinders Ranges Retreat

Oct 15-17 Labyrinth Weekend Reteat

The labyrinth as a spiritual practice. Walk the labyrinth under moonlight for a unique experience. (With Mary White) Fee: $150

Oct.18 -24 Original Blessing (at Amberley)

How has Earth-friendly Spirituality grown since the publication of Matthew Fox’s book in 1983? The Retreat is built around a two day retreat followed by an optional extra four days with greater depth. Presented by Trevor Parton and Mary White. (Bookings at Amberley Ph: 9439 8282)

Nov 12 - 14 Fire, Earth, Air, Water Weekend Retreat

Cosmology for the 21st Century. A look at the Universe Story and the new cosmology - dramatising and ritualising it. The Council of all Beings as an experience of deep ecology. (Commences 8.00pm Nov.12, concludes 3.00pm Nov 14. Fee: $150)

Nov 14 - 18 Earth Retreat (4 Day)

The Earth Retreat (4-day) is a time of reflection, song and dance, walking and working in nature, reading and discussion on aspects of Earth Spirituality. Note: It is possible to combine the above weekend and retreat into a six-day retreat. Fee: $350

Dec 18 Day of Reflection (Summer Solstice)

A day of reflection and review for the year. May be used as part of the pre-Christmas Retreat. (9.30 am - 4.00pm Lunch provided) ($30)

Dec 19 -22 3-Day Retreat

An opportunity to spend a day or two at the end of a busy year in some quiet and reflection as a preparation for the Feast of Christmas. Relax in the pleasant Glenburn surroundngs. ($85 per day)

STAFF DEVELOPMENT DAYS

The Centre can be used as a quiet site for small groups of school staffs to do their in-services. Staff can provide modules on spirituality, and personal development. Day only or sleep-over. Centre Staff can travel to schools to provide Days of Refl ection or Retreat.

WALK THE LAND

These are regular outings in the country and include bushwalking, discussion and a shared picnic. Details on website/Rubida.

EUCALYPTUS RUBIDA

Rubida is the Centre’s quarterly Newsletter and is available on request either by post or by email. Please contact the Centre by phone or email if you wish to be on the mailing list. It also can be viewed on the website www.edmundrice.org.au/glenburn

6-DAY ECOLOGY RETREATS

Enjoy a restful and refl ective retreat at the Centre for Ecology and Spirituality at beautiful Glenburn. Compassion and care for all life, social and ecological justice, a new mystique of Earth, and an ecological conversion of mind and heart, are examined through scripture, refl ection, dance, ritual and immersion in the beautiful forests of the Great Dividing Range.

PRIVATE RETREATS

These can be done individually or in small groups, and spiritual companioning or other inputs are available.

Catering can be provided or retreatants can self-cater. A self-contained fl at is available for anyone wanting to make a quiet retreat surrounded by the beauty of nature. The flat may also be used for an extended stay by someone wishing to take some sabbatical time, or by a family group.

OTHER PROGRAMS

The Centre also cooperates with other Centres in providing programs that people can attend in Melbourne.
