The Edmund Rice Youth Ministry Team 2010
The Amberley Edmund Rice Youth Ministry Team have commenced their work for the year. To date they have been involved in a range of orientation activities designed to assist them in their ministry.
Chris Beggs
Chris attended St Patrick’s College Ballarat and has completed studies in Outdoor Recreation as well as having worked for IBM. A significant influence on him has been his involvement in Edmund Rice Camps. Chris’ engagement with the Chin families from Burma in the Family Camp last September stands out for him as a most transforming experience.
Katrina Powell
Katrina has completed studies in Dance and is currently working on a Masters in international and community development. Of recent times Katrina has been a volunteer at Communidade Edmund Rice in East Timor as well as having had involvement with Edmund Rice Camps in Queensland, Ireland and South Africa. She has a deep passion for the many friends she has met through her work in East Timor, particular the children.
Marysia Lappin
Rish is commencing her second year on the team. Last year she helped to develop many new programs. Her work with both Adam and Maddy from last year has seen a change in direction for the ERYMT. The programs now offered by the team are more directly focussed on justice, the ecology and spirituality. This last weekend Rish and the team led a most successful Leaders Retreat with students from schools in Queensland, South Australia and Victoria. This retreat was the result of Rish’s creativity, passion and enthusiasm.
