Ceinwyn Elleway and Mason Somerville are our Project Development Officers for the Build the Bridge Project in South Australia.
Ceinwyn comes to the project with a teaching and leadership background. She has worked with both the SACE Board and SSABSA, and has a deep interest in social justice issues. Inspired by her former students, Ceinwyn is keen to explore post-school options for young people. Ceinwyn has also been involved in developing school-wide pastoral care programs in Adelaide and a range of roles with Indigenous students in Cairns.
A qualified teacher, with a focus in Development Studies, Ceinwyn is currently completing her Masters in Education, Leadership and Management at Flinders University.
Mason is a dedicated social justice advocate and traveler. He is passionate about educating and supporting young people to be agents for change. A qualified social worker, Mason has recently returned from Christmas Island working as a volunteer with young people in detention and has experience in supporting children in foster care. An enthusiastic musician, Mason is the lead singer in a social justice band called Minority Tradition- the group performs and presents workshops across Adelaide (including schools) focusing on social justice themes specific to asylum seekers, indigenous rights and the role of the media.
Inspired by his work and volunteering in New York, India and Africa, Mason has developed a curriculum based “Global Awareness Program” for delivery in primary schools.
