As we move into the last week of the Federal election, do we know how the different party policies measure up against Christian Principles. Read how politicians are answering questions put by the Bishops.

The Australian Catholic Social Justice Council has produced a flyer which looks at some of the issues which face Australia as we approach these Elections.  It states the permanent principles of the Church's social doctrine as:

  • the dignity of the human person,
  • the common good,
  • subsidiarity and
  • solidarity.

Issues and solutions are looked at in the light of these principles.

The Australian Bishops urged the Catholic constituency to take their opportunity to vote very seriously and consider the issues from a Christian standpoint as well.

To assist with weighing up all the issues, you can read what each party is actually saying in response to your Christian questions in the following new website (produced by the ACL):

You can also download an Election Summary Booklet with answers from the top 4 parties to those same questions here:

We pray these non-party partisan tools assist in informing your conscience better than anything you'll find in the messy media at the moment.
