The new centre was opened last Wednesday by the Minister and blessed by Fr Chris Gleeson SJ.

The opening was a celebration of partnerships with EREA, the Government, local Council, Regional Education bodies, QCEC, Brisbane Catholic Education, the Department of Non-State Schooling and many other groups.
Indigenous elder of the Undumbi people, Uncle Peter Bird conducted a Cleansing Ceremony and Welcome to Country.

A ceremony acknowledging the blessings already received involved young people and highlighted the four elements of Earth, Water, Air and Fire.The young people were justly proud of their new surroundings and took great pride along with their parents in celebrating the opening.

Ted Magee wrote, "The Principal, Dale Murray, along with the Coordinator and staff are to be congratulated on the wonderful work they are doing and on their commitment to providing alternate pathways for our young people who are unable to receive an education in traditional school situations."
