Edmund Rice Camps Auckland (NZ)
Programme Design/ General Description
ERC Auckland provides a one week holiday camp experience for children in the Auckland and Murupara regions who have experienced some level of disadvantage. The camps are concerned primarily with the welfare of children, the use of activities to achieve aims and the constant affirmation of all achievements to build self-esteem and a sense of worth in young children. The camps aim to provide a fun holiday type experience in a safe, supportive environment for children who may need it. The camps are beneficial for both children and leaders. Children are placed in an environment in which they learn to relate well to others in a co-operative manner and are able to develop a sense of belonging and team spirit.
ERC Auckland is registered as a “Tax Charity” as part of the Charities Commission of New Zealand, enabling them to access Tax Concessions and Donee Status.
