FAME has had an exceptionally busy year so far, with many many successes. The programme has never been so jam-packed, and continues to grow in diversity and size.
The Aquatics Programme has not suffered through the colder months, with significant interest and attendance. The Well Being Programme offered to replace the Aquatics in the peak of winter saw topics such as gardening and bushwalking, and time in the cardio room was also quite popular.
With the Programme Director (Dayle Foreman) departing to head home to sunny Queensland, there are different faces on the FAME Team. Tiffany Newman returns to FAME (for the third time!) and is working with Vince Fleming (Rostrevor) in a joint oversight role, while ‘Principal Pete’ has assumed the all-important role of Campus Coordinator.
In preparing for 2011, timetabling and course development are priorities. New subjects such as metalwork, tyre fitting and learners permits are being considered. A joint project with Edmund Rice Camps (SA) is also on the horizon.
FAME is also looking for volunteer tutors in the areas of literacy and numeracy for one-on-one work with students. So if this interests you, please contact Deb at FAME on 8186 2000.
Always proud of their students, the FAME Team were delighted when Bec Nourse (past student 2007 – 2009) was awarded the 2010 Onkapringa Youth Recognition Award for ‘Learning Success’ – Congratulations Bec!
