We have looked at how to submit an article in Part 2. Now we will look at how to add pictures and how to attach documents to the site.
Before adding pictures or documents we must first store those documents. To do this you need it have them stored on your computer in a place you can find and with a name you will recognize.
How to upload a file to your Web Media Library

On the home page, and many others, you will see the above thin Blue menu line. Click on "Media Library"
From the page shown to the right click the "Add Image" button.
This will open a screen for you to choose the required image from your computer.

Click on the Choose File button. You might be loading a picture or a PDF file or even a Word file.
Find and choose the file. The example shows MediaLibrary.jpg.
Add the caption you would like to use. The example has "Media Library".
If you have folders stored choose one. The example has "Instructions" chosen.
If not add the name of the folder you would like to create in the "New Folder" space. (I strongly suggest you use you name as the folder name. That way you will be able to find your file next time you go to use it.)
The rest is not needed and unless you have many articles and folders I suggest you do not use them. Just click "Submit Photo" (This works for all files not just photos).
How to Add an Image to a page
Once an image is stored you can add it to the page in one of two ways.
- You can make it the appear in the Image Gallery at the top, right of the text or
- Add it within the text on the page.
As an attachment / in the gallery box
To add to the Gallery use the Blue "Select Image" buttons below the edit area. To reduce the number of images to choose from, select the your personal folder.
Click on the file and it will be loaded into the gallery.
If you choose a document rather than a picture you will see it listed with the attachments, as a hyperlink, when you display the page.
As an image or hyperlink within the Text
To display an image within the text, which is what I have done in this page, you have to provide the link to where it is stored. If you are not confident with computers, this will become a little complicated and I suggest you get someone to show you rather than to try to read these instructions.
I like to work with two copies of the website loaded at the same time in different "TABS". One I have opened at the "Media Library" page so that I can find images without leaving the page I am editing. In the other tab I have opened the page I am editing.
If you require an image, position the cursor where you want the image displayed and click the "Insert/edit Image" button (the tree marked on the right of this line).
Now it gets complicated because you are presented with a "Fill In Form" which is asking for a "URL". This is asking for where the image is stored in the media library.
On the "MY Images" page find the image I require. Below the image you will find the words " delete" and "share". Right click on the share and you will get a set of choices. Choose the one which is like "copy the link address" (the wording may be different from computer to computer) to store in memory the "URL" for this image.
Return to the edit page you have opened (looks like image on the right) and paste (Use Ctrl V) the copied data "Image URL" data entry box. See graphic on the left.
Use the "Appearance" form to specify the size, position and border. If you have managed this far you will be able to do this without other instructions.
To add a hyperlink such as I have at the end of this page you select the Text or graphic you wish to use and click on the closed chain (the left button shown in the picture above and to the right). Again you will be asked for a "URL". Go the "My Images" page of the second copy of the browner and find the document or page you wish to use, you can copy the URL, as described above, for a document you have previously stored. You can also link a page from this or any other web page by entering it's URL. For pages on this website you can copy the "URL" is provided at the bottom of the page. Paste this into the line asking for a URL (Use Ctrl V). For external pages go to the page and copy the URL from the address/ URL line of the browser.
This is as much as I expect anyone to learn in one session. Get it and try it if you have not already been adding pictures and hyperlinking. It is a lot of fun and will make your pages much more attractive.
