Finding Articles:
Search: You will find it very helpful. Just type into the search box (see image to the right) a word that is likely to be a keyword in the article you are looking for and choose from the list of articles displayed.
Some pages have been set as indexes to certain types of article. As Articles are added these pages are updated so that the newest article is positioned on the top. A short introduction to the article is provided and should you wish to read the complete article you click on the Image to the right to retreive the full article.
Web Updates: (This will store the articles featured in recent updates.)
Ministry Articles: (Articles about our ministry works; not the ministries themselves)
Education: (Articles about some educational topic.)
Edmund Rice Camps: (Articles about Camp acticities; not about the camps as ministries)
Indigenous issues: (Article about Indigenous Issues.)
Refugees and Asylum Seek: (Article about Refugee and Asylum Seeker Issues.)
Ministries: (This can be found with the "Ministry" Menu Button. Then go to the "Ministery Index")
Camp Ministries: (This can be found with the "Camps" Menu Button. All Qld camps share one entry.)
Advanced Search:
You can do a search on Categories. To do this click on the “Advances Search Button”
When articles are first submitted the author nominates one from list of fifty “categories”. This is only as good as the ability to choose an appropriate category. It is not always easy to choose one.
To help with this choice the Categories are arranged so that the board group is listed in the column on the left and more specific items are listed across the row.
Select a Category below which best relates to your article:
With this understanding the Category “Life” refers to “Edmund Rice’s Life”
The Category “Youth” refers to “Youth Ministries”
The Category “Social Justice” refers to “Social Justice Ministries”
The Category “Social” refers to “Social Issues” (Social Justice Issues but also Youth Issues and others)
A month or so ago we identified a few changes to the wording and layout of this list so that it may be a little less confusing. The main change we are looking at is the layout of the page of choices presented when you choose an “Advanced Search”. That page is currently a jumble of the fifty categories with little indication of how they are related to each other.
There are two ways to use the Advanced Search.
One is to chick on the Category in the list. Do not check the box provided but rather the category name when the pointer turns to a finger. This will list all articles in that category.
The other is to use the category together with a search word or phrase. For this you check the box for the category you want then enter a search word which will further narrow the search. To start the search click the “GO” button. At the moment this is not working. We will get the Search Facility repaired as it is very efficient when working.
