Sadly this is a message to let many friends know that one of our stalwart members Mr Michael Parker passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on the afternoon of Wednesday 6th April. Michael and his wife Jill (Edmund Rice Networking Coordinator WA) have been contributing mammoth amounts of service to and for the Edmund Rice Network, and formerly for the Edmund Rice Family, and for years and years before that for the Christian Brothers. It’s only six months since Michael was Jill’s indispensible right-hand man for the very successful Multicultural Harmony and Multi-Faith weekend on the 8th – 10th October 2010.
In a dramatic twist of circumstances just days after that event Michael was diagnosed with a most aggressive brain tumour which changed the course of his life and impacted hugely on the lives of four generations of his family.
The funeral arrangements are as follows:
When: Friday 15th April 2011
Where: 10.00am Mass at Holy Family Church, Kalamunda (2 Burt Street, Kalamunda – Cnr Burt Street & Railway Road, Kalamunda)
1.00pm – Karrakatta Chapel & Crematorium
2.30pm – Kalamunda Hotel (upstairs) – Celebration of Michael’s life.
It is with sadness that we convey our sympathies to all of Michael’s family and particularly with Jill and Michael’s children.
