The Edmund Rice Network in Oceania has taken a strong stance on the Justice Issues surrounding Refugees and Asylum Seekers. This includes hands-on action to support those in the community struggling with the difficulties faced by those without immediate family and friends,Housing, Food and Language needed to survive in their adopted home. Others take on an advocacy and public education role.
Edmund Rice Refugee Service – St Albans/ Sunshine
The Edmund Rice Centre provides Homework Help and tuition, one-to-one in a communal setting. The volunteer tutors are largely senior students from 20 Edmund Rice Schools and other schools across and beyond Melbourne. The Centre is open to all Refugees and recently arrived youth, regardless of background, race or creed. It is inclusive of all peoples.
