In January this year the SA Regional Wisdom Group (SARWG) was established and was formally commissioned in March. Similar groups have been formed in other Regions of the Province. They are charged with the responsibility of giving voice to the expressions of Edmund’s charism in each Region.
As its first task the SARWG arranged a Wisdom Harvest in March, at which representatives of the many sections of the SA Network were brought together to explore and share, through story, the essence of the Edmund Rice Network in SA. This gathering enabled participants to have an increased awareness and energy for future networking. It also provided SARWG with a better understanding of the authentic voice of the SA story of the Network.
This understanding was important in empowering the Group to participate with some authority at the July Now Is the Time gathering in Brisbane in July, at which all Regional Groups were present. The Brisbane conference was a planning process to consider the future of the Network and the essence of networking in the context of Congregational directions.
The other major activity of the SARWG has been preparation for the nominations and judging of the SA Network’s Living the Vision Awards, for which nominations close on Tuesday 31 August 2010. The Awards will be presented at the Awards Dinner to be held at the Pavilion, Rostrevor College, on Friday 17 September. It is hoped that all sections of the SA Network will be well represented on this occasion.
The members of SARWG would be pleased to receive advice and feedback on any aspect of the SA Network, its activities or its future. The members of SARWG are: Jim Dwyer (Convenor), Peter Caporaso, Shaun Clarke, Heather Hier, Martin McCarthy, Mark McGlaughlin, Natasha Siebert, Helena Sweeney and Br John Webb.
