The Ballad of Edmund Rice and the Early Monks.         By P.A.McManus

Dedication:-      I sat before this master

Just one of seried ranks
                               I dedicate these musings
                               To J.E.C with thanks.

‘Twas June the first in sixty two
                   That Edmund was born
In Westcourt house , a country home
                   Near Callan town at dawn.

          In eighteenth century Ireland,
The times they sure were bad
For she was ground beneath the heel
                   Of  tyrants -oh ‘twas  sad.
