Who We Are
Edmund Rice Asylum Seeker Project, aims to respond to the needs of Asylum Seekers in Melbourne. Our mission is to help bring dignity through building friendships and supporting people seeking protection in this nation. Edmund Rice Asylum Seeker Project is an outreach of the Edmund Rice Centre 'Amberley' and is guided by the charism of Edmund Rice, founder of the Christian Brothers.
What We Do
Edmund Rice Asylum Seeker Project is a residual service provider, and aims to help complement current services provided by the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, Hotham Mission Asylum Seeker Project, Brigidene Asylum Seeker Project and the Red Cross.
The project has been in planning for over 12 months and opened its doors for the first time in August 2009. The services currently provided by the service include, the Br Noonan Asylum Seeker house of Welcome in Richmond, a financial support fund and volunteer and employment service. ERASP is constantly investigating how we can best respond to the needs of Asylum Seekers in Melbourne.
