This site offers all groups who are part of the Edmund Rice Network to position themselves online in a creative and interactive way.

One of the biggest factors behind producing this site was the need to unite the network within the one realm – but while everyone should be able to found within the same realm, there should be some autonomy.

That’s why we have created a space that can be self-managed. It allows you to have your own presence, created by you, while sharing the content space of others across the network.

Another key elements among our features is that of the social networking tools and events calendars … we’re going to show you how to maximize this experience for your benefit and that of the entire Oceanic community!

Step 1: Sign Up as an ‘Organisation’

Step 2: Create Your Organisations’ Personalised Page

-       Tell us About You … Your Mandate/ Vision; Your History; Your Location; Your Activities in a nutshell but for more, simply create further pages that you can have people link through to from your main profile page.

-       Paint the Picture … Upload up to 10 core pics to insert into your page’s slideshow (making sure your logo’s the first one uploaded)

-       Present Yourself to the World via Tags

-       Link to your social networking group with your Forum & Events Calendar ** 

Step 3: Your Forum

** Make certain that you’ve created a group within the ‘Community’ part of the site.

This will provide you with a whole new world of options…your forums, your blogs, your membership management, your events calendar, your new videos, your stories…

Step 4: Your Events

Upload your up & coming events into the Events Calendar.

Be sure to add the Event Location/ Group so that you can create an RSS Feed from your group’s calendar in the core site (a feature coming soon!)

All the events will be placed into the monthly calendar on the homepage of the side and the most upcoming in the sidebar of the community part of the site.

Step 5: Engage and Increase Your Membership

You can simply invite your entire database at the click of a mouse (go to ‘Invite’ in the Navigation Bar of the Community part of the Site)

You can also entice further interest in your activities by having really active forums and blog posts.

Step 6: Promote Yourselves

Add your new link [personalized URL Feature coming soon] from your Facebook, your MySpace and your newsletters etc.
