User Conduct - Community Site, chat rooms, forums, and blogs

edmundrice.org wants to encourage an open exchange of information and ideas on the Site. You can expect the Site to include information and opinions from a variety of individuals and organizations other than edmundrice.org. edmundrice.org neither endorses nor guarantees the accuracy of any User Content. edmundrice.org does not always preview, censor, approve, edit, or endorse User Content and therefore, cannot guarantee that inappropriate material will not be posted. edmundrice.org may review User Content from time to time and may take steps to remove inappropriate User Content that comes to its attention; however, it engages in no routine monitoring of the Site. We do not endorse or guarantee the accuracy of any posting, regardless of whether the posting comes from a user, or from a member of our staff. There is no substitute for healthy skepticism and your own good judgment.

You agree to assume full and sole responsibility for any User Content you post to the Site, and you agree to:

1. Abide by the Community and edmundrice.org Rules for Members (which are fully incorporated into these Terms);

2. Post User Content that is relevant to and appropriate for the specific topic and designed to help people share information and supports edmundrice.org's aim of assisting those living on the margins.

3. Represent that you are the owner of the User Content, or are making your submission with express consent of the owner, that you have obtained all third party releases and permissions necessary for use of any User Content that you post, and nothing you post will infringe on the rights of others;

4. Neither post nor transmit any unlawful, obscene, defamatory, libelous, threatening, pornographic, harassing, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive User Content, or User Content that encourages conduct that would be considered a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability, violate any law, or any other User Content that infringes on the ability of others to enjoy the Site, or is otherwise inappropriate;

5. Refrain from soliciting personal information from any user and be conscious of posting any personal information of your own such as your email address, phone number, address, etc that others may beable to view and access.

6. Neither post nor transmit through the Site any User Content that constitutes advertising or solicitation with respect to any product or service;

7. Not post anonymously or impersonate any other person; and

8. (a) Make no use that would interfere with or disrupt the Site or servers or networks connected to the Site, (b) make no User Content available (whether through upload, post, email, transmit, or otherwise) that contains software viruses or any other computer code, files, or programs designed to interrupt, destroy, or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment, and (c) neither circumvent nor disable any security or data-protection measures implemented by edmundrice.org.

CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY ANY PERSON TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE THE SITE IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS. SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, EDMUNDRICE.ORG RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

Responsibility for what is posted on edmundrice.org's community and social media sites, or in chat rooms, forums, blogs and other public posting areas on edmundrice.org lies with each user -- you alone are responsible for material you post. edmundrice.org does not control the messages, information or other content that you or others may provide through edmundrice.org. You may use edmundrice.org for lawful purposes only.

By using edmundrice.org, you agree not to submit, post or transmit through edmundrice.org any material or otherwise engage in any conduct that:

* Violates or infringes the rights of others including, without limitation, patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, publicity, privacy or other proprietary rights;

* Allows you to gain unauthorized access to edmundrice.org, or any account, computer system, or network connected to edmundrice.org, by means such as hacking, password mining or other illicit means;

* Is unlawful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, libelous, deceptive, fraudulent, invasive of another's privacy, tortuous, or contains explicit or graphic descriptions or accounts of, sexual acts;

* Victimizes, harasses, degrades, or intimidates an individual or group of individuals on the basis of religion, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, age, or disability;

* Collects for marketing purposes any email addresses or other personal information that has been posted by other users of edmundrice.org.

* Impersonates any person, business or entity, including edmundrice.org and its employees and agents or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with any person, business or entity, including edmundrice.org;

* Contains viruses or any other computer code, files or programs that interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment, or otherwise permit the unauthorized use of a computer or computer network;

* Encourages conduct that would constitute a criminal offense or that gives rise to civil liability or that otherwise encourages others to commit illegal activities or cause injury or property damage to any other person;

* Results in the posting or transmission of any message anonymously or under a false name;

* Permits any person to access, using your account, any features of edmundrice.org that may require registration;

* Results in a single message being posted to more than five areas of any edmundrice.org Site, results in any message being posted to any area of edmundrice.org if that message is, in our view, off-topic or in violation of these Terms; or

* Violates these Terms of Use, guidelines or any policy posted on edmundrice.org, or interferes with the use of edmundrice.org by others.

Although edmundrice.org cannot monitor all content on edmundrice.org's community and social media sites, or postings in the chat rooms, forums, blogs and other public posting areas, you understand that edmundrice.org shall have the right, but not the obligation, to monitor the content of edmundrice.org to determine compliance with these Terms and any other operating rules that may be established by edmundrice.org from time to time. edmundrice.org shall have the right, in its sole discretion, to edit, move, delete, or refuse to post any material, including but not limited to Video Submissions, submitted to or posted on edmundrice.org for any reason, including violation of these Terms of Use, whether for legal or other reasons, or because the material is objectionable or stale. Notwithstanding this right of ours, users shall remain solely responsible for the content of their messages and Video Submissions. You acknowledge and agree that neither edmundrice.org nor any of its affiliates shall assume or have any liability for any action or inaction by edmundrice.org with respect to any conduct within edmundrice.org or any communication or posting on edmundrice.org. Edmundrice.org also reserves the right to disclose any information that edmundrice.org believes necessary to satisfy any law, regulation or governmental request, or to refuse to post or to remove any information or materials, in whole or in part.

Edmundrice.org requires you not to use edmundrice.org to violate anyone's copyright, trademark or other intellectual property rights. By posting or submitting any material (including, without limitation, photographs and videos) to edmundrice.org, you are warranting and representing that you own or have the right to post or make such submission of the material, or are making your submission or posting with the express consent of the owner, and that no other party has any right, claim, or interest in the material that you have submitted or posted. You also warrant that all moral rights in any material that you submit to us or post have been waived. Submitting or posting material that is the property of another, without the consent of its owner, is not only a violation of these Terms, but may also subject you to legal liability for infringement of copyright, trademark or other intellectual property rights.
