Leadership

Oceania Province’s Policies, Guideline and Professional Standards exist to enable the Oceania Leadership Team (the Trustees of the Christian Brothers, Oceania Province) to responsibly govern the Province. The OLT is committed to excellence and consistency of practice across the Province. The Province Policies, in the spirit of Edmund Rice, will provide direction for all persons who are part of the Province. These policies provide direction which is informed by Province values and applicable legislation.

There are three key structural areas within the Oceania Province. These are based on the “Structuring of the Organisation” that was developed by the “Shaping Our Future Committee” and put into place on 1 October 2007 and consist of the:

Oceania Leadership Team – The Oceania Leadership Structure is the focal point for all that is done in the name of the Christian Brothers in the Oceania region. The Oceania Leadership Team comprises seven Christian Brothers, chosen from among all Brothers in Oceania. Their role is to oversee and govern the work of the organisation.

Oceania Community Clusters – There are twelve (12) clusters arranged throughout Oceania to ensure pastoral care and spiritual development of Brothers in community and their individual ministries. Every brother in the Province resides within a Cluster which is led by a Cluster Leader.

Life & Mission Teams  and Province Secretariat – A group of five (5) Directorship lead by Directors that cover areas of “Province Secretariat”, “Support & Administration Services”, “Edmund Rice Oceania Ministries”, “Networking, Communication & Development” and “Formation”.

Oceania Province Policies, Guidelines and Professional Standards apply to all personnel positions within the organisation which are based and categorised into one of these three (3) structural areas. It is the responsibility of the line manager at each level to ensure those who report to them receive up-dated information about Province Policies.

Please note that Policies, Guidelines and Professional Standards specifically addressing Brothers’ matters are held at a separate location. For Brothers requiring access to these please refer to your Cluster Leader or Community Leader, for other personnel needing access please address your request to the associated Director of either the Province Secretariat Directorate or Life and Mission Team Directorates.
